That engine would have galloping oil consumption. The piston rings far too slack to save any oil. Replacing the hydraulic lifters in random order rather than the original positions they wore out, would give big problems in valve operation later on. The sump had a huge whack in it too, but no matter, just spray it black…good as new !..I was astonished the engine ran, but then he was only driving it at 10 mph afterwards.
